Domus was an automotive company established around 1980 by Tharp Industries, located in Kansas City, Missouri. The company specialized in manufacturing conversion kits that transformed Volkswagen vehicles into mini-trucks, catering to a niche market that sought utility in compact forms.

One of the notable products was the Flatback, which converted the classic Volkswagen Beetle into a small flatbed truck. This conversion allowed for increased practicality while maintaining the Beetle's iconic design. Following this, the Flatback 11 adapted the Volkswagen Rabbit in a similar manner, providing a compact utility vehicle option.

The company also introduced a limited-edition model known as the Flatback III. This version featured a longer pick-up-style tail and a relocated rear axle, enhancing its capability for hauling motorcycles and other lightweight items.
