Dixie was an automobile brand produced by the Southern Motorcar Company, which operated in Houston, Texas, from 1908 to 1910. The company introduced its first vehicles under the Dixie name, which included two distinct models: the Junior and the Flier. The Junior was a high-wheeler featuring a 10/12 horsepower air-cooled 2-cylinder engine, friction transmission, and double-chain drive, typical of the era's design. The Flier, on the other hand, was a more conventional automobile equipped with a 24 horsepower 4-cylinder engine, a 2-speed gearbox, and shaft drive.

In 1909, the Junior model was discontinued, and the Flier was rebranded as the Tourist, which was offered at a reduced price of $1,500. A 5-seater tourer was also available on the same chassis, priced at $2,000. Despite these offerings, the Southern Motorcar Company faced financial difficulties due to the failure of its bank, which ultimately led to the company's closure in early 1910. The total production of Dixie automobiles is believed to have been limited to no more than 17 units.
