Detroiter [2]

Detroiter was a fiberglass-bodied convertible produced by Detroit Accessories, a company based in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

The car was typically built on a 1952–53 Ford V8 engine and chassis, though the original prototype had been constructed using a shortened Cadillac platform. Its styling was created by industrial designer Ray Russell, who incorporated as many Ford components as possible into the design, including the glass, windshield frame, dashboard panel, and floor mats.

Rather than resembling a purpose-built sports car, the Detroiter appeared more like a customized version of a standard Ford, reflecting its heavy reliance on existing Ford parts and components.
