Darby Motorcar Company was an American automobile manufacturer based in St. Louis, Missouri, that operated briefly from 1909 to 1910. The company aimed to produce simple and accessible vehicles, which was reflected in their advertising slogan, "The Simplest Automobile on Earth."

The primary model produced by Darby was the Model 20, which featured a 16-horsepower, two-cylinder, two-stroke engine. This model utilized a friction transmission and chain drive, showcasing the engineering trends of the time. The Model 20 was available in two configurations: a three-seater roadster and a four-seater surrey, both built on a 100-inch (2,538 mm) wheelbase.

Despite its innovative design, the Darby Model 20 struggled to gain traction in the market, resulting in limited sales. The company ceased operations shortly after its inception, marking a brief chapter in the early history of American automotive manufacturing.
