Company Name: CVI Motor Car Co.

Place: Jackson, Michigan

Country: United States

C.V.I. Motor Car Company was established in 1908 in Jackson, Michigan. The company was founded by Charles Cutting, who designed the vehicles produced under the C.V.I. brand. The name of the car was sometimes presented as C.V1, which stood for Cutting Six, reflecting its six-cylinder engine.

The C.V.I. vehicles were conventional cars available in configurations such as a five- or seven-seater tourer and a four-seater runabout. These models were priced at approximately $4,000. The company initially planned to produce 50 cars in its first year, although it remains unclear whether this production target was achieved.

C.V.I. Motor Car Company did not survive beyond 1908, as it ceased operations before the end of the year. Following the company's closure, Charles Cutting became involved with another automotive venture that featured a four-cylinder car bearing his name, which was manufactured in the C.V.I. factory.
