Chase Motor Truck Company was established in Syracuse, New York, in 1907. The company primarily focused on the production of trucks, with its passenger vehicles being derived from its truck designs. Chase vehicles were notable for their use of air-cooled, three-cylinder, two-stroke engines, which were paired with chain drive systems and solid tires. One of the key models produced by the company was the Model F Surrey, also referred to as the Measure Car. This model featured a four-seater body design that lacked doors at both the front and rear, and it included removable rear seats that allowed it to be converted into a light truck.

By 1912, Chase Motor Truck Company ceased the production of passenger cars, focusing instead on its line of four-cylinder trucks, which continued to be manufactured until approximately 1917.
