Champion Auto Equipment Company was established in 1916 in Wabash, Indiana, as a manufacturer of automobiles. The company produced a conventional car known as the Champion, which was available in both two-seat and tourer configurations.
The Champion was powered by a 308 cc four-cylinder side-valve engine, which was rated at 36 horsepower. One of its notable features was an automatic tire inflator that could be operated while the vehicle was in motion, a unique innovation for its time.
The Champion was introduced at the 1916 Chicago Automobile Show; however, production was short-lived, as the company did not continue manufacturing into 1917. A total of 167 units of the Champion were built during its brief production run.
