The Carroll Automobile Company was established in Lorain, Ohio, and operated briefly from 1921 to 1922. The company produced a limited number of vehicles, primarily focusing on a single model, a five-seater touring car. Although a roadster was included in the 1922 lineup, it is believed that this variant never progressed beyond the prototype stage.

The design of the Carroll automobile featured a distinctive appearance, characterized by a radiator positioned behind the front axle. Initially, the company announced plans to equip its cars with a Rochester six-cylinder engine; however, this engine was never utilized. Instead, the completed Carroll vehicles were powered by a Beaver six-cylinder engine. The cars were equipped with a California fixed top, disc wheels, front and rear bumpers, and various other features that were included as standard.

The pricing for the Carroll automobile was set at $3,985. A notable anecdote associated with the brand involved a shipment of Carroll cars intended for distribution on the West Coast. It was reported that these vehicles were sent without anti-freeze during winter conditions, leading to cracked engine blocks upon arrival. The veracity of this story remains unverified. Ultimately, the production of Carroll automobiles did not exceed 200 units before the company ceased operations.
