Country: United States

Car-Nation was an automobile brand produced by the American Voiturette Company, which operated in Detroit, Michigan, from 1912 to 1915. The brand focused on manufacturing small cars, known as voiturettes, which were characterized by their relatively large size for the category. The Car-Nation featured an 18-horsepower four-cylinder engine and a conventional three-speed gearbox.

During its brief existence, Car-Nation offered three distinct models: a tandem two-seater, a side-by-side two-seater, and a four-seater tourer. In 1913, the president of American Voiturette, Charles S. Shafter, acquired the Keeton Company, which was known for producing larger six-cylinder vehicles. This acquisition suggested a shift in focus, indicating that Shafter may not have fully believed in the viability of light cars.

By the end of 1914, American Voiturette faced financial difficulties and entered receivership. Although it was reported that 600 Car-Nation vehicles and 100 Keeton cars were to be assembled during this period, it is likely that far fewer were actually produced before the brand ceased operations.
