Capitol Automobile Company was an early American automobile manufacturer based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1902, the company was notable for producing a unique steam-powered vehicle referred to as a "steam chariot." The designer of this vehicle claimed to have created it in 1889, but it was not until 1902 that he attempted to market it.

The Capitol steam car was characterized by its luxurious features and was priced at $1,200 at the time of its introduction. Despite its opulence, the company produced only a single unit of this model, which has survived to the present day.
