Burrowes was an American automobile manufacturer based in Portland, Maine, that operated from 1904 to 1908. The company primarily focused on producing house screens but ventured into the automotive industry as a sideline.
During its brief existence, Burrowes produced two distinct types of automobiles. The first was a light runabout featuring a chain-driven system and a single-cylinder engine, which was manufactured in 1904 and 1905. The second model was a more conventional shaft-driven tourer equipped with a four-cylinder engine, introduced in 1908. Overall, the company produced no more than eight cars throughout its operational years.
Despite its limited production, Burrowes contributed to the early automotive landscape, albeit as a minor player in the industry.
