Buggy Car was an American automobile manufacturer based in Cincinnati, Ohio, that operated briefly from 1908 to 1909. The company emerged when it acquired the assets of the Ibstal Auto & Engine Company, which had been producing high-wheel vehicles since 1906 in New Bedford, Indiana.
The Buggy Car was known for its high-wheeler design, which featured a horizontally-opposed two-cylinder engine available in two power outputs: 12.5 horsepower and 16 horsepower. Customers had the option to choose between a friction disc transmission or a cyclical transmission, with the final drive system utilizing double chains.
Despite its short operational period, Buggy Car contributed to the early automotive landscape in the United States, focusing on a niche market for high-wheel vehicles during the early 20th century.
