Brunn Carriage Manufacturing Co. was established in the mid-19th century by Henry Brunn in Buffalo, New York. Initially focused on producing horse-drawn carriages, the company ventured into the automotive industry by manufacturing a limited number of electric cars. The models produced in 1906 were marketed by James McNaughton, who was also based in Buffalo.

In 1910, the company introduced a vehicle that was sold under the name Clark Electric. The Brunn family continued to influence the automotive sector, as Hermann Brunn & Co., a notable automobile coachbuilder, was founded in 1908 by Henry Brunn's nephew. This expansion into coachbuilding marked a significant development in the legacy of the Brunn family within the automotive industry.
