Brownie was an American automobile brand that emerged in 1916, founded by J.O. Carter in Hannibal, Missouri. The brand was essentially a rebranding of the CARTERMOBILE, which underwent a name change alongside a price reduction from $985 to $735 in an attempt to boost sales.

Despite these efforts, the Brownie did not achieve significant market success and remained relatively undistinguished in the automotive landscape. By late 1916, Carter claimed that production of the Brownie was being handled by the Career Manufacturing Company in Detroit. However, there were no further developments or reports regarding the project, leading to the brand's eventual obscurity.
