Blodgett Engineering & Tool Co. was established in 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. Initially, the company specialized in manufacturing tools, jigs, dies, and special machinery for the automotive industry.

In an effort to diversify its operations, Blodgett ventured into automobile production, developing a tourer model powered by a six-cylinder Continental engine. This vehicle featured disc wheels and was noted for its aesthetic appeal. However, despite these promising attributes, the tourer never entered production. Additionally, plans for a sedan and coupe were likely never realized, marking a brief and unfulfilled foray into the automotive market.
