The Bliss automobile brand originated in 1906, founded by the F.W. Bliss Company, which was based in Brooklyn, New York. The company was primarily known for manufacturing heavy presses and drop-forging machinery, as well as torpedoes for the United States Navy.
Bliss entered the automotive market with a high-priced touring car that featured a four-cylinder T-head engine, which included an integral flywheel and fan, along with a double-chain drive system. The use of chrome and nickel steel was notable in the construction of the vehicle. The base price for the touring car was set at $5,000, with the option for customers to order additional body styles at even higher prices.
Despite the initial ambition, Bliss produced only ten cars before exiting the automobile industry, concluding that the venture was not sustainable.
