Bertolet

1908-1910

Brand Data

Bertolct was an American automobile manufacturer that operated briefly from 1908 to 1910, based in Reading, Pennsylvania. The company was founded by Dr. J.M. Bertolct, who initially built several cars before formally incorporating the Bertolct Motor Car Company in 1909.

The vehicles produced by Bertolct were conventional touring cars equipped with a 40-horsepower four-cylinder engine. A notable feature of these cars was their versatile body design, which allowed the vehicle to be converted from a five-seat tourer to a two-seat runabout by removing the rear seats, catering to a more sporting aesthetic when desired. Despite their innovative design, the company did not survive beyond 1910, although a few cars may have been completed from leftover parts into 1911.
