The Louis J. Bergdoll Motor Company was established in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and operated from 1910 to 1913. The company was founded by members of the prominent Bergdoll family, who aimed to produce high-quality automobiles. They constructed a substantial seven-story factory in downtown Philadelphia, which facilitated the production of their vehicles.

Bergdoll offered two four-cylinder models, which were rated at 30 and 40 horsepower. In 1911, the company provided a diverse selection of body styles, with as many as nine options available for customers. Notably, the 1912 Model 40 featured a self-starter, reflecting advancements in automotive technology of the time.

Despite the quality of their vehicles, the Bergdoll Motor Company faced challenges in business management, leading to its receivership in March 1913. Following this, a limited number of cars were assembled in a smaller facility located on the family estate along West Chester Pike.
