Belmont Motor Company was established in 1917 in Toledo, Ohio. The company focused on the production of automobiles during a brief period in the early 20th century.

In March 1917, Belmont introduced its notable model, the Belmont Six. This vehicle was equipped with a Buda engine and featured a Hotchkiss drive system. The Belmont Six was priced at $1,750, which positioned it within the mid-range market of its time. However, production was limited, and it is believed that only two prototypes of the Belmont Six were ever made, indicating that the company did not achieve significant commercial success.
