Bearcat was an American automobile brand that operated briefly from 1955 to 1956, under the American Buckboard Corporation based in Los Angeles, California. The brand focused on producing a unique type of vehicle known as a buckboard, which was a revival of the earlier Briggs & Stratton Flyer concept.
The Bearcat vehicles featured a direct drive system powered by a two-cylinder air-cooled motorcycle engine, which connected to a fifth wheel at the rear. This design aimed to provide a simple and affordable mode of transportation, with prices set under $1,000. Despite its innovative approach, the brand had a short production run and did not achieve lasting prominence in the automotive market.
