Barthel Motor Company was an American automobile manufacturer based in Detroit, Michigan, that operated briefly from 1903 to 1904. The company was founded by Oliver Barthel, a consulting engineer who had previously collaborated with notable figures in the automotive industry, including Charles Brady King and Henry Ford. Barthel's experience in the field included work on early racing cars, which contributed to his expertise in automobile design.

The Barthel Motor Company produced only two models during its short existence, both of which were 14-horsepower, two-cylinder vehicles. Despite the ambition behind the brand, it struggled to achieve commercial success, especially in comparison to Ford, who went on to become a dominant force in the automotive market. The limited production run of Barthel cars marked the company's quick decline in the competitive landscape of early 20th-century automobile manufacturing.
