Automite was a homebuilt microcar sold as construction plans rather than a complete vehicle. Marketed by PrismZ as an ultra-compact three-wheeler with a fully enclosed cab, it targeted hobbyists seeking an inexpensive, simple project. The design specified a single rear-drive wheel and a small industrial engine between 4.5 and 10 hp, with claimed performance of about 40–55 mph depending on power and a maximum fuel economy claim of up to 90 mpg. Published dimensions were approximately 5 ft 8 in long, 32 in wide, and 3 ft 10 in high; empty weight was cited at roughly 165 lb with a 450 lb gross weight. Materials lists and suppliers accompanied the plans, and an hour-long video showed the car in operation and detailed construction of the cab enclosure.
Automite remained a plans-only project; available evidence did not indicate series production or sale as a turn-key vehicle. The package was offered for a modest price and positioned as suitable for year-round use, shopping, commuting, or recreational driving, but it belonged to the do-it-yourself sphere rather than to conventional automobile manufacturing.
