Autoette was an American automobile manufacturer that operated briefly from 1912 to 1913 in Manistee, Michigan. The company was known for producing one of the earliest cyclecars in the United States, a category of small, lightweight vehicles designed to be more affordable than traditional automobiles.
The Autoette featured a compact design, powered by a 400cc single-cylinder engine that produced a modest 4.9 horsepower. It utilized a friction disc transmission system, coupled with a vee-belt final drive. The vehicle was designed as a two-seater roadster with a wheelbase measuring 72 inches (1827 mm). Priced at $300, the Autoette aimed to provide an economical option for consumers during its short production run.
Despite its limited lifespan, the Autoette contributed to the early automotive landscape in America, representing the innovation and experimentation characteristic of the cyclecar movement during the early 20th century.
