Auto Car Equipment Company was established in Buffalo, New York, in 1907. The company primarily focused on the production of commercial vehicles. During its brief foray into passenger cars, Auto Car announced a notable 60-horsepower, six-cylinder limousine capable of accommodating up to ten passengers. However, only a limited number of these vehicles were produced.
By 1911, the company shifted its focus entirely to commercial vehicles and changed its name to Atterbury. Under this new name, they introduced another ten-seater vehicle, this time a touring car, but it too was short-lived, lasting only a single season. Despite the challenges in the passenger car market, Atterbury continued to manufacture trucks, which remained in production until 1935.
