Aurora Automobile Company was established in Aurora, Illinois, and operated briefly from 1905 to 1906. The company emerged from the Aurora Carriage Top Company, which had previously specialized in manufacturing carriage components. Transitioning to automobile production, Aurora introduced a 30-horsepower, four-cylinder tourer that featured a friction transmission and shaft drive.
Despite its innovative design, the venture into the automotive industry proved to be short-lived. The company faced challenges that ultimately led to its closure by the end of 1906, marking a brief chapter in the early history of American automobile manufacturing.
