American Microcar Inc. was a manufacturer based in Farmingdale, New York, active from 1979 to approximately 1981. The company is primarily known for producing the American Microcar, also referred to as the Tri-Ped. This vehicle was characterized by its unique design as a basic two-seater runabout featuring a single front wheel, which classified it as a three-wheeled vehicle.

The American Microcar was designed to be a minimalistic mode of transportation, resembling a moped with added safety features such as a roll cage and a windscreen.
