Ahrens-Fox Fire Engine Co. was established in 1913 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is recognized for its production of fire engines. The company has its roots in the manufacture of horse-drawn pumpers, which date back to 1868. Ahrens-Fox gained prominence in the fire service industry, particularly for its innovative designs and engineering.

In 1913, Ahrens-Fox ventured into the automotive market by introducing the Model E-C Battalion Roadster, a vehicle aimed at fire chiefs for personal use. This roadster was equipped with a 44-horsepower six-cylinder engine and included some fire-fighting equipment. However, the anticipated demand from fire chiefs across the nation did not materialize, resulting in only a limited production run of the Battalion Roadster, with all units delivered to the Cincinnati Fire Department.

The company continued to manufacture fire engines until it ceased operations in 1956, leaving behind a legacy in the fire service community.
