Midland Classic Restorations

2010-2023

Brand Data

Midland Classic Restorations (Midland Classic) was a British specialist marque and restoration shop founded in 2009 by Dominic Mooney in Ombersley, Worcestershire. Beyond general classic-car work, it produced and supplied replica Austin-Healey Sebring Sprite bodywork and turn-key cars in very small numbers, using Sprite/MG Midget underpinnings and fibreglass panels. Following the 2016 closure of Archers Garage—longtime producer of Sebring Sprite coupé/fastback shells—Sebring-focused sources recorded that the Sebring body moulds passed to Midland Classic, which then appeared alongside sister business Peter May Engineering as a UK supplier for Sebring Sprite parts. The firm also prepared and supported customer cars for historic racing.

Through the early to mid-2020s Midland Classic remained active, advertising historic race-car preparation (to FIA/MSUK standards) and event support while continuing to supply Sebring Sprite components via Peter May Engineering. The company thus represented a continuation of the British Sebring Sprite replica tradition rather than a volume manufacturer; production stayed limited and centred on recreations faithful to period specification.
