HDS

Hooper Design Services was a small British kit car manufacturer established in London in 1991. In 1996 the company was renamed Hooper Creative Design Services, continuing operations under this name thereafter.

The firm became known for a single model whose design drew inspiration from the Ferrari 166 Corsa Spyder. The car was built using a lengthened Triumph Spitfire or GT6 chassis, which was modified with steel floorpan extensions, outriggers, and a new front bulkhead before a fibreglass body was fitted on top.

When first launched, the car was marketed under the name Lindy, but it was soon rebranded as the HDS. Buyers could choose between a ladder-frame chassis fitted with a Triumph Dolomite rear axle, briefly marketed as the Defender, or a full spaceframe chassis version known as the Warrior.

From 1993 onward, the range was expanded with examples powered by Fiat twin-cam engines, broadening the mechanical options available to customers of this Triumph-based kit car.
