Group Six

Group Six Fibres was a British automotive manufacturer based in Clerkenwell, London, that operated from 1972 to 1977. The company was founded by John Mitchell, who drew inspiration from the Group 6 sports and racing style when designing the vehicles.

The first model produced by Group Six featured a kit-form fiberglass body mounted on a Volkswagen Beetle floorpan, which provided a simple yet effective platform for the car. Initially, the early models were designed as open vehicles, but in 1973, the company introduced a targa hard-top option. Following this, all subsequent models were produced as enclosed coupes, reflecting a shift in design and consumer preference.

Despite its brief existence, Group Six Fibres contributed to the niche market of sports cars during the 1970s, offering enthusiasts a unique blend of style and accessibility through its innovative use of materials and design.
