Grantura Plastics was a British automotive manufacturer based in Blackpool, Lancashire, that operated from 1968 to 1973. The company was known for its connections with T.V.R. and initially produced a two-seater coupe called the Gem. This model featured a fibreglass body that bore a resemblance to contemporary T.V.R. designs, although it had a more truncated front end. The Gem was powered by a Ford 3-litre V6 engine and was equipped with independent suspension and four disc brakes.
In 1969, Grantura introduced its next vehicle, the Yak, which served as a successor to the Mini Moke. The Yak maintained a similar aesthetic to the Moke and was built on a tubular chassis that utilized standard Mini subframes. Its body was constructed from a single piece of fibreglass. The company produced approximately 150 units of the Yak, primarily in kit form, with around 30 of these cars being exported to various holiday destinations.
