Ecurie Cars Ltd was a collaboration between Building the Legend, Ecurie Ecosse, and the design firm Design Q, formed to produce the LM69 sports car. The project was conceived as a continuation of Jaguar’s unresolved XJ13 racing program, imagining how it might have evolved for Le Mans in 1969. The LM69 was designed entirely using materials, techniques, and styling authentic to the late 1960s and was presented as a tribute rather than a replica. The car was hand-built in England, produced in a limited series of 25, matching the FIA homologation requirements of the era. Clients could choose between a 6.1-litre or a 6.8-litre quad-cam V-12 engine and a period-correct five-speed manual gearbox. In its higher-capacity form, the output exceeded 700 horsepower, enabling a top speed above 200 mph and 0–60 mph acceleration in just over three seconds. The LM69 was made road-legal in the United Kingdom and premiered at the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court in 2019. In 2021 Ecurie Ecosse expanded its homage to its historic racing heritage by introducing a new model dubbed the C-Type continuation. Seven meticulously crafted cars were shown, each honoring one of the original seven Jaguar C-Type chassis raced by the team in the 1950s. These continuation models preserved the aerodynamic body shape, steel space-frame chassis, and straight-six engine layout of the originals, while incorporating thoughtful updates such as increased engine capacity to 4.2 litres, fuel injection boosting output to approximately 300 bhp, improved suspension and brakes, and a five-speed manual gearbox. The cars retained the spirit and visual character of the originals but included enhancements for contemporary usability and performance.
