Dorset Motor Services (D.M.S.) was a British automotive manufacturer based in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, that operated from 1989 to 1993. The company specialized in producing replica sports cars, drawing inspiration from classic models while utilizing more accessible components from existing vehicles.
One of D.M.S.'s notable creations was the Bullit, which the company claimed was inspired by the Aston Martin Vantage. However, the Bullit bore a closer resemblance to a modified Ford Capri Mk2/Mk3, featuring a conversion that included fiberglass body panels for the bonnet, front wings, valance, and boot, while the underlying structure remained the Capri. The Bullit was available in both coupé and convertible forms.
In addition to the Bullit, D.M.S. developed several other projects, including the Predator, a replica of the Ferrari 250 GTO built on a Datsun 240Z/260Z chassis. Another significant model was the Venom, which served as a budget-friendly replica of the 427 Cobra, utilizing parts from the Ford Cortina and Granada. The company also attempted to create the Abingdon, a replica of the MGA, although it is unclear if this model ever reached production.
In 1993, D.M.S. was acquired by Classic Replicas, marking the end of its independent operations.
