Chriton Automobile Co. was established in 1904 in Saliburn-by-the-Sea, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The company operated during the early years of the automotive industry, producing a range of vehicles that included both low-powered and higher-powered models.

Chriton advertised several models, featuring a 10 horsepower four-cylinder shaft drive two-seater, as well as more powerful options such as a 24 horsepower four-cylinder and a 30 horsepower six-cylinder vehicle. While the 10 horsepower model was confirmed to have been built and even participated in the 600 Mile Small Car Trials in August 1904, the existence of the larger models remains uncertain, as they may have only existed in concept rather than as actual production vehicles.

The company’s operations were short-lived, and it did not achieve significant recognition in the automotive market. Nonetheless, Chriton Automobile Co. contributed to the early development of the automotive industry in the United Kingdom during its brief period of activity.
