The Brookland Motor Company was a British automotive manufacturer based in London, active for a brief period from 1993 to 1994. The company was known for its innovative approach to kit cars, particularly through the work of journalist Iain Avre, who designed the Brookland Swallow. This model was a trike inspired by 1960s aesthetics and utilized components from the Mini.
Despite its strong steel chassis and capacity to accommodate four passengers, the Brookland Swallow faced challenges due to its weight, which ultimately prevented it from entering production. Following the announcement of another model, the Speed Six, a replica of the Jaguar XK120, the company encountered difficulties that led to a rebranding as Ayrespeed.
