Bradwell & Co. was a British automobile manufacturer established in 1914, located in Folkestone, Kent. The company specialized in producing lightweight vehicles, notably the Bradwell Monocar, which was a single-seater cyclecar.
The Bradwell Monocar was designed to be exceptionally light and was powered by a modest 3.5 horsepower engine. It featured a unique starting mechanism that allowed the driver to start the engine from the seat. The vehicle utilized a belt final drive system and was priced at £65, making it an accessible option for consumers during its time.
Despite its innovative design, Bradwell & Co. did not achieve significant commercial success and eventually ceased operations. The Monocar remains a notable example of early 20th-century British automotive engineering.
