Bilmar was a British automotive manufacturer based in Portland, Dorset, that operated briefly from 1971 to 1972. The company was known for producing the Bilmar Buccaneer, a sports car that drew design inspiration from the Lotus Seven.
The Buccaneer featured a wider body than the Lotus Seven and incorporated larger headlamps along with a distinct tail design. It utilized alloy body panels mounted on a space frame chassis, which was engineered to accommodate a Triumph Spitfire engine, gearbox, and front suspension, while the rear axle was sourced from a Ford Corsair. Despite its promising design, only 11 units of the Bilmar Buccaneer were manufactured during the company's short existence.
