Alternative Vehicles Technology, generally known as A.V.T., was a small British vehicle manufacturer based in Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset. The company specialized in electric vehicle conversions and kit-form cars during a period of growing interest in alternative propulsion technologies.

The firm's best-known product was the A.V.T. 100E, which was claimed to be the first British electric car offered in kit form. Its glassfibre bodywork drew stylistic inspiration from the Renault Espace, though the A.V.T. version was more compact, featuring only two doors and a hatchback design. The vehicle was built around a square-section steel chassis that incorporated numerous mechanical components sourced from the Rover 100, including its front subframe, suspension, steering, brakes, and transmission, which used a semi-automatic clutch system.

Power for the 100E came from a front-mounted series-wound electric motor rated at 14.66 kilowatts, with a disc motor offered as an optional alternative. The manufacturer claimed a top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h) and a driving range of up to 80 miles (128 km) on a single charge, figures that were notable for an electric vehicle of its era.

A.V.T. remained a niche player in the British automotive landscape, contributing to the early development of electric kit cars at a time when such technology was still uncommon in mainstream vehicle production.
