Automotive Systems Development (A.S.D.) is a British automotive company based in Leeds, Kent, known for its involvement in both racing car preparation and the production of specialized road cars. The firm initially focused on building and preparing racing vehicles before expanding into the manufacture of its own branded products.
One of A.S.D.'s early models was the TRIPOS, which marked the company's entry into the road car market. Among its notable projects was the 1984 Minim, a small, Mini-based mid-engined roadster characterized by a steel backbone chassis, a bolt-on fiberglass body, and half-doors. However, production of the Minim was limited, with only a handful of units being made. Another Mini-based endeavor was the 1990 Hobo, a utility vehicle featuring a fiberglass body, designed in a style reminiscent of the Mini Moke.
In addition to these models, A.S.D. produced the CK427, a heavily re-engineered version of the GRAVETTI Cobra replica, and engaged in licensed production of the American HUNTER. The company also gained recognition for its high-quality replicas of classic racing cars, including the Maserati 250F and the Aston Martin DBR2, appealing to enthusiasts of automotive history.
