Pihsiang

Pihsiang was a Taiwanese electric-vehicle marque developed by Pihsiang Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a Xinfeng, Hsinchu-based affiliate of Pihsiang Machinery. The company, long active in mobility products and battery technology, moved into small electric road vehicles in the late 2000s and introduced the Achensa brand in 2009. Series production began in 2011, and the marque was presented as a domestically engineered urban EV line built around the group’s lithium-iron-phosphate battery technology. In 2013 the company announced its first export shipment to Europe, marking the brand’s clearest step beyond the Taiwanese market.

Its best-known model was the two-seat Achensa A100 city car, a compact battery-electric vehicle developed for short-range urban use. Other documented vehicles included the A300 microcar and the C200 light pickup, showing that the marque extended beyond a single passenger model into small commercial EVs. Pihsiang’s significance lay in being one of Taiwan’s more visible early attempts to establish a dedicated home-grown EV marque, although available evidence points to limited-volume production rather than major international scale.
