Diaz y Grillo / DyG

Diaz y Grillo, officially known as Fabrica Espanola de Automoviles Diaz y Grillo, was an automobile manufacturer based in Barcelona, Spain. The company operated from 1915 until 1922, during which it produced a range of light cars. Diaz y Grillo aimed to compete in the burgeoning automotive market of the early 20th century, positioning itself alongside other manufacturers such as David and America.

The vehicles produced by Diaz y Grillo were characterized by their use of four-cylinder MAG engines, with some prototypes featuring English Blumfield engines. The company also experimented with innovative transmission systems, including a design that utilized variable pulleys and belts, similar to that of the David model. The production models were equipped with torsion bar suspension and offered various body styles, including closed configurations.

Although not primarily focused on racing, Diaz y Grillo achieved notable success in several Spanish racing events. In addition to its automotive production, the company represented Motosacoche for a period and, after ceasing car manufacturing, transitioned to representing the Senechal brand. The legacy of Diaz y Grillo reflects the early automotive industry's development in Spain during the early 20th century.
