Bonet i Dalmau was an early Spanish automobile manufacturer based in Barcelona, active during the late 19th century. The company was founded by Francesc Bonet i Dalmau, who was also the owner of a prominent textile business. In 1889, Bonet i Dalmau produced what is recognized as the first Spanish car, a three-wheeler equipped with a single rear wheel and powered by a Daimler single-cylinder engine that generated only 1 horsepower.
Despite its historical significance, the vehicle was noted for being too light to drive effectively, which limited its practicality. Following this initial endeavor, Bonet i Dalmau designed a four-wheeler; however, he ultimately abandoned the project due to complications with the differential system. The company's brief existence marked an important moment in the early development of the automotive industry in Spain.
