Carousel Engineering C.C. was a South African automotive manufacturer based in Stanger. The company specialized in producing replica sports cars, notably presenting its 1929 Mercedes SSK replica, marketed as the Springbok Sports Kar. This model exemplified the typical SSK reproduction, appealing to enthusiasts of classic automotive design.

Carousel Engineering offered two variations of the Springbok Sports Kar. One version utilized a Volkswagen Bertie chassis, while the other featured a custom front-engine chassis designed for Ford components, specifically using parts from the Ford Cortina. Customers had the option of choosing between leaf spring or coil spring rear suspension for their vehicles. The bodywork of these replicas was constructed from fiberglass, contributing to a lightweight design.

In addition to the Mercedes SSK replica, Carousel Engineering produced another model that resembled an Aston Martin V8. This vehicle also employed Ford Cortina suspension and was powered by a 3-litre Ford V6 engine, all mounted on a custom chassis.
