Groninger Motorrijtuigenfabriek was a Dutch automobile manufacturer based in Groningen, active from 1898 to 1899. The company claimed to have produced the first true Dutch car, asserting that their vehicles were distinct from those of Eysink, which had utilized a foreign engine. Groninger's cars were equipped with their own-designed water-cooled engines, offering outputs of 2.5 horsepower and 4 horsepower.

At the Amsterdam automobile show, Groninger showcased its initial two models, which weighed approximately 800 kilograms. The heavier model achieved a top speed of about 15 miles per hour (25 kilometers per hour). Following the introduction of these vehicles, the company received an order to manufacture two buses for the Hollandsche Automobiel Maatschappij in Delft. However, due to significant financial difficulties, Groninger Motorrijtuigenfabriek ceased operations and closed its factory in 1899, resulting in the end of its automotive production.
