Ferruccio Covini Automobili was an Italian automotive manufacturer founded in the late 1970s, based in Castello San Giovanni, Piacenza. The company specialized in producing unique vehicles, primarily focusing on innovative designs and diesel engine technology.

The first vehicle produced by Covini was the T-44 Soleado, a distinctive square-shaped 4x4 off-road vehicle. It utilized VM turbodiesel engines with capacities of 2.0 or 2.4 liters, featuring rigid axles and leaf springs at both ends. This model marked the company's entry into the automotive market, showcasing its commitment to robust and functional design.

In 1980, Covini introduced the Sirio GT, a mid-engine two-seater coupe that stood out for its aesthetic appeal. This model was powered by an air-cooled VM diesel engine, with a turbocharged variant producing 125 bhp introduced the following year. Additionally, customers had the option to equip the Sirio with a Lancia Gamma engine, either 2.0 or 2.5 liters, and it featured a five-speed gearbox sourced from Lancia. The Sirio GT also boasted all-independent suspension and servo-assisted disc brakes, enhancing its performance and handling. A total of 14 units of the Sirio were produced in 1981.

Covini continued to develop new models, including the Leonesse, which was planned for release in 1982. This vehicle was intended to be powered by either a V8 or a straight-six turbodiesel engine; however, it ultimately did not reach production. By 1990, the company was still operational, having rebranded the Sirio as the C88 and introducing a new model, the T40, which featured a 3.7-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel engine. Despite its innovative approach, Covini's production remained limited, and the company did not achieve widespread recognition in the automotive industry.
