Automirage Srl was an Italian automotive manufacturer based in Rastignano, Bologna, that operated from 1974 until approximately 1987. The company specialized in the production of beach buggies, which were marketed under various names including Mirage, Moon, and Pirana.
In 1975, Automirage expanded its offerings with the introduction of the Pickwick, a unique leisure vehicle based on the Fiat 126. This model featured open-topped fiberglass bodywork, catering to the recreational vehicle market. The following year, the company launched the Mirage 3, a compact three-wheeled cyclecar powered by a 50cc Morini single-cylinder engine, which was mounted at the rear and drove a single rear wheel via a chain.
In 1981, Automirage introduced a larger model known as the Mirage 250, later referred to as the IV. This model was available with either a BCB 125cc single-cylinder engine or a 251cc two-cylinder engine. The Mirage 250 could be configured as either a four-wheeler or a three-wheeler, the latter featuring a single front wheel, showcasing the company's innovative approach to vehicle design during its operational years.
