Fintos Electric Cars was an Irish electric vehicle startup based in County Leitrim. Its first model, the two-seat Spika, was a lightweight electric roadster that featured a hybrid carbon-fibre and aluminium monocoque and distinctive scissor doors. The vehicle was developed by a team that included chief engineer Mike Keane, formerly of Williams Engineering and involved in Jaguar C-X75 stunt cars for the James Bond film Spectre, and chassis designer John Corrigan, who worked on the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The Spika was promoted with performance figures including four-wheel independent motors, 0–100 kph in under five seconds, a top speed of around 160 kph, and a claimed driving range of more than 500 km, in some reports exceeding 600 km. It offered fast-charging capability in about half an hour and multiple driving modes ranging from track to eco. Retail pricing was expected to be around €60,000–65,000, with early plans for limited production of roughly 150 units per year in Leitrim.
