Sunrise Auto Industries Ltd was an Indian automotive manufacturer based in Bangalore, operational from 1975 to 1981. The company specialized in producing three-wheeled vehicles, which were characterized by a distinctive bulky design featuring a single front wheel and three doors—two on the near side and one on the off side. The vehicles were powered by an Italian-made single-cylinder 2-stroke engine with a displacement of 198cc, located at the rear and coupled with a 4-speed constant-mesh gearbox. The braking system utilized hydraulic brakes that acted solely on the rear wheels, allowing the vehicle to reach a top speed of 47 mph (75 km/h).
In 1981, Sunrise Auto Industries Ltd transitioned from three-wheeled vehicles to four-wheeled models, introducing the Sail. However, this model was short-lived. The following year, the company launched the Sail Dolphin, a two-door four-wheeler that bore a close resemblance to the Reliant Kitten. The Dolphin remained in production until 1994, during which time it was marketed under the name SIPANI.
