Autokinitoviomihania Ellados (AEBE) was founded in 1975 in Athens by a group of Greek businessmen, including Fiat importers to Greece. It relocated to Thiva in 1978 and operated as an independent Greek company. It ceased operations in 1984 after a market collapse, and its facilities were acquired by Automeccanica in 1988.
The company built licensed, Fissore-based Fiat designs, including the Scout 127 (also sold as the Amico 127), based on the Fiat 127, with 6,021 units produced, and the Poker 126, based on the Fiat 126, with 253 units produced. It also assembled Fiat 238 and Fiat 900T vans. Production began with imported parts and progressively increased local content to about 50 percent. Total output across its models reached 6,620 vehicles.
