Hoffmann 2CV was a German kit-car specialist founded by Wolfgang Hoffmann, based in Hohenfurch, Bavaria. In 1988 he developed and produced the first prototypes of the Hoffmann 2CV Cabrio, a fiberglass-bodied convertible kit based on the Citroën 2CV. The kit included a GRP rear tub with a steel reinforcement frame, two side windows, soft top, boot lid, and all necessary fittings.

Between 1988 and 2007, approximately 250 professionally built Hoffmann 2CV Convertibles were manufactured in Hoffmann’s workshop, while roughly 1,450 additional kits were delivered for owner-assembly, bringing total builds to around 1,700 across Europe and a few deliveries to the United States and Japan. The company remained active beyond that, continuing to supply replacement parts—such as stainless steel chassis and fiberglass body components—for Citroën 2CV and related models.
